The England manager Questions Wembley Fan Atmosphere Following Comfortable Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel expressed his sadness that the Three Lions team did not get more backing from the Wembley spectators during their commanding triumph over Wales on Thursday evening.

The manager was satisfied to see his squad continue their good form, with strikes from Rogers, Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the initial stages deciding the game. Yet, he was not content with the mood at the national stadium.

“We had limited training days to prepare against a drilled team and we excelled,” Tuchel commented. “We could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We missed the fourth and fifth ones. There was little noise. We didn’t get support from the crowd. Our team gave their all to win.”

“What more can you provide in 20 minutes? We prevented them escape. When you only hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s sad because the squad warranted greater backing today.”

“I stand by this statement. There’s nothing more than being 3-0 in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a bit more backing in periods where it gets difficult.”

“After halftime, to cheer us on, there was excessive support for Wales. It might have aided us to regain energy, but it is what it is and that is it.”

Selection Choices Vindicated by Display

Apart from risking a fight with supporters, the manager also caused a stir by excluding Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. However the move was backed up by Morgan Rogers delivering another standout performance in the No 10 position and scoring his maiden goal for his country.

“He plays his game,” Tuchel explained. “He is a No 10 and he is vying for his place.”

Bellamy Seeks Lessons from Defeat

The Wales manager expressed hope that his team, who face Belgium in a crucial qualifying match on Monday, take lessons from their poor performance in the opening period.

“This is why I wanted this friendly,” the manager stated. “I need to see our standing. What are our ambitions? What is our identity? This performance fills me with inspiration.”

Fitness Worry for Striker

Ollie Watkins was taken off at half-time after hitting a goalpost and will be a doubt when the national team face Latvia in Riga in a qualifier on next week.
