Aircraft Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter hovering near a crowded coastal beach abruptly commenced twirling out of control, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a cluster of palm fronds as spectators watched.
Recordings uploaded on the internet depict the helicopter commencing to spiral above the shoreline then descending in the direction of the border of the coast, where it gets stuck among palms and a steps close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
Emergency responders said five people were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the helicopter and were âsafely pulled from the wreckageâ following the incident on that day.
Three persons on the street were injured. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
